Long Collection Description
Inspired by the fluting of ancient Greek columns and the pleated textures of Issey Miyake, Thea is a solid-brass faucet collection that translates those references into a clean, vertically ribbed surface that adds depth and tactile grip without excess ornament. The collection was designed as a cohesive system ideal for high end interior design projects. It maintains unified geometry and detailing across fixture types, including deck-, wall-,and floor-mounted applications, supporting specification from powder rooms and guest baths to wet bars.
A key design and engineering focus was the precise, repeatable vertical rib geometry across components. To achieve this, individual parts are CNC-machined from brass blanks, allowing tight control of the fluting pattern.During development, the pattern and handle-cover dimensions went through multiple iterations. Adjustments as small as 0.003 inches in pattern depth were tested to achieve the final texture, which needed to maintain uniform geometry across ultra-thin PVD topcoats, electroplated finishes, and thicker sprayed finishes.
Manufacturing combines programmable machining with controlled hand finishing to ensure repeatable, project-wide results across a full bath and shower system and a wide finish range. After machining, components are hand polished to refine the surface, then degreased and ultrasonically cleaned prior to coating. Finally, production uses two surface-treatment paths depending on the specified finish. Plated options (like PolishedChrome or Polished Nickel) use electroplating, with optional PVD topcoats for high-use hospitality spaces.Custom color options (like Matte White or Red RAL) use spray application and high-temperature oven curing to seal the surface.
The collection allows designers to select spouts and handles in different combinations while keeping the same fluted detailing and finish across the project, including two-tone and powder-coated color options. With more than 30 finishes available, the collection complements common hospitality material palettes such as stone, metal, plaster, and wood while keeping the visual language consistent.
